Since 18th November 2025, identity verification has become mandatory, and the following rules apply:
## Directors
New directors must verify their identity when:
1. incorporating a new company; or
1. being appointed to an existing company.
Existing directors must confirm their identity as part of each company's next annual Confirmation Statement, during a
12-month transition period, starting from 18 November 2025.
## People with significant control (PSCs)
Every PSC, usually at least the shareholders of the company holding more than 25% of the shares but may include other
individuals, must submit a statement confirming they have verified their identity, along with their Companies House
personal code, within a personal 14-day period.
The timing of this period depends on individual circumstances:
1. existing PSC - must provide a personal code within the first 14 days of their birth month;
1. new PSCs (after 18 November 2025) - 14-day period starts from the date they register with Companies House; and
1. if the PSC is also a director of the same company - 14-day period starts from the companys confirmation statement
date.
## What you will need
**We can only provide in-person verification in our Aberdeen-based office, and are unable to conduct any online
verification.**
You will require:
* An email address to receive the verification code
* A valid *biometric* passport (most international passports accepted)
* A valid UK driving licence
Alternative routes for validation are available, however these documents give the greatest chance of success as they can
be most quickly verified.
During the verification we will ask you your full name, any former names, date of birth, email address, home address and
address history for the last 12 months.
We may also take a photo of you which will be stored with your verification records.
The email address you use must be unique to yourself and not shared with anyone else.
Consider that the verification code is personal, and you should not use a company email address unless you are sure that
you will not leave that company and lose access to it.
## Individual pricing
The price for an identity verification appointment is *£72 including VAT*.
To arrange an appointment please [email or give us a call](/contact).
## Bulk verification at your board meeting
If you have a larger board of 5+ individuals requiring verification and all will be present at a meeting before your
deadline, we may be able to attend your board meeting and provide the service on-site.
For a quote, please give details of the company, how many individuals require verification, and the location and time of
your meeting [via email or phone](/contact) and we will get back to you.
