Right now you don't know whether or not the article is successfully parsed without visiting the snapshot, or querying the status endpoint once #15 is implemented. If it's possible to make the background task run in the foreground easily without messing up contexts or database sessions then we can add an option to return an error instead of the URL on parse failure, and not have anything touch the database.
